Hi! I'm Zoe. Welcome!

I'm a Pattern Designer currently living in Brighton UK.

I work across the spectrum in both Photoshop and Illustrator. I can draw intricate florals and develop them in photoshop or experiment with loose textural prints in Illustrator.

My style has landed on utilising a combination of both programs. I often create the textural structure in Illustrator then develop a print further in Photoshop.

It feels like a total privilege to get to design and experiment for a living!

I'm in love with this line of work and how the creativity feeds all aspects of my life. I wake up excited about creating new prints and find endless avenues of inspiration in the world around me. A trip to a botanical garden ends up becoming a print a day later.

A Little About Me:

  • I'm a nature nut and meditation junkie. I love hiking and i'm drawn to wild open spaces. I love travelling to the mountain ranges on the West Coast of the States, the Sierra Nevadas.

  • I believe that creativity begets creativity and if you just get started inspiration will come.

  • I can't get enough of online learning. I'm so thankful to live in the age of the internet where the barriers to entry in learning any new skill are just whether your'e willing to put the hours in.

  • I'm fascinated by quantum physics and all things energy. I can barely get my head around the fact that each colour on the spectrum vibrates at a different frequency....mind bending in the best of ways!

The Formal Stuff:

I received A's in Art and Graphics at school and I always assumed i'd end up doing something creative but I took a major detour and ended up working in Finance in London after getting a (2:1 ) in BA Hons Politics, Economics & East European Studies degree at University College London (UCL) and London School of Economics.

It’s taken me a few years to re-orient back towards doing the things I love.  After having my Son a few years ago I took the chance to retrain completely.  I started experimenting and taking every Art class I could find in my local area. I took classes in Block & Fabric Printing, Oil Painting, Life Drawing & Quilt Making. I got so much from these that after 18 months of  experimenting I decided to enrol in formal Art & Design qualifications and between (2012-2015) I took 2 x  1 year City and Guilds Art & Design Courses. I also took a City and Guilds module in Textiles gaining a Distinction.

I keep my skills updated by participating online in classes from: Central St Martins and the Textile Design Lab.

I currently work as a Freelance Designer for L.A based design agency ‘White Buffalo Studio’.
